How to play 3 letter 128 Wordle Infinite
Play 3 letter 128 Wordle on 128ordle: solve 128 different three-letter answers in 135 guesses. Type one word and press Enter to send it to every unsolved board at once.
Reading the clues
- A guess must be an accepted three-letter English word. British and American spellings are both accepted. Green means the right letter in the right position; yellow means the letter belongs in a different position.
- Grey means that copy of the letter did not match. If your guess repeats a letter, another copy can still be green or yellow. Use all the rows together to work out how many copies the answer can contain.
- Each board scores the guess on its own. A grey letter on one board can be green on another. Entering an exact answer solves that board, and solved boards stop receiving guesses. Clear every board before your guesses run out to win.
Why a repeated letter can be grey
In this made-up example, the answer is TEA and the guess is EEL. EEL contains E twice, but TEA has only one E. One E is coloured and the other is grey. A grey duplicate rules out an extra copy, not every E.
A plan for this puzzle
The 128-board puzzle gives you seven spare turns. Three opening guesses that solve nothing leave four, even though the counter still shows 132 guesses. Switch to answers when the clues allow it, hide solved boards, and revisit ambiguous letter patterns before the budget reaches zero.
What three letters changes
Each guess shows you only three letters, so you learn less per turn than at any other length, and almost every answer has near neighbours. On one board it is the hardest length to finish in six guesses. On large puzzles it swings the other way: the answer list is small, so much of it is on the boards and ordinary words keep landing as solutions.
Three-letter words come in the biggest rhyming families of any length: BAT, CAT, FAT, HAT, MAT, PAT, RAT, SAT; or BIG, DIG, PIG, RIG, WIG. Two green letters can still leave eight answers.
Know when you can afford a test word
You start with 7 spare turns: the guess limit minus the number of answers. During play, subtract unsolved boards from guesses left. A guess that solves nothing spends one spare turn; a correct answer keeps the margin.
At zero spare turns, every remaining guess must solve a board to clear the puzzle. A positive margin gives you room to test letters, but does not guarantee a win.
