128ordle 7.0: New word lengths and languages
Released 6 October 2026. Ten new editions of 128ordle arrive at once: every word length from 3 to 10 letters, plus Spanish, French and Portuguese, each on anything from 1 to 128 boards.
Ten new ways to play, in four languages.
- 3 and 4 letters: Shorter words, tighter boards
- 6 to 10 letters: Longer words, more to work with
- Español: Palabras de cinco letras, con ñ
- Français: Des mots de cinq lettres
- Português: Palavras de cinco letras
Word lengths
- A new Letters row on the home page switches between 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 letter words. Each length has its own address, from /3-letter to /10-letter.
- Guess limits are the same at every length, so short words are tighter and long words give you more to work with.
- Boards widen or narrow with the word, so the tiles stay readable.
- Every length accepts British and American spellings as guesses, and answers are words spelled the same way in both.
Languages
- Spanish (/es), French (/fr) and Portuguese (/pt) each use five-letter words in that language. Portuguese follows Brazilian spelling.
- Accents do not count: type a word without them, or with them, and it is read the same way.
- Spanish has its own key for the letter ñ.
- Each language has a home page written in that language. Menus and settings are still in English for now.
How editions work
- Every edition has Wordle, Duordle, Quordle, Octordle and the 16, 32, 64 and 128 board puzzles, each with a daily puzzle and Infinite mode.
- Speed Run, Blind and the archive work in every edition with 128ordle+ or Lifetime Supporter. Hard mode stays in the classic game.
- Saves, best times and leaderboards are separate for each edition. Daily streaks count a daily from any edition.
- The leaderboard filter lists every edition, and shared results name the edition you played.
- Letters typed on the home page now counts the real length of each guess, from three letters to ten.
- Party mode, Ladder Climb, the Daily Gauntlet and the 256 to 2,048 board puzzles stay five-letter English.
Guides and help
- Each language edition has five guides written in that language: how to play, best starting words, strategy for many boards, accents and letters, and how the word list is chosen.
- Each new word length has a how-to-play page, a starting-words guide, a strategy guide and a word list page.
- Every puzzle in the new editions has its own help under the boards, written in that edition's language, with a worked example of a repeated letter.
- The starting-word guides are worked out from each edition's own answer list, so the suggested openers differ by language and length.
- New pages for teachers and learners cover using Spanish, French and Portuguese Wordle in class.
- Two overview pages compare every word length from 3 to 10 letters and introduce the three language editions.
- The help centre has 33 new answers about editions, accents and word lists, and the Terms and Copyright pages now cover the new word data.
