128ordle 4.0: Party mode
Released 28 August 2026. Real-time multiplayer. Create a room, share a six-character code, and race up to 32 friends through the same puzzle with no account needed.
Rooms
- Create a room from /party and share its six-character code or invite link.
- Guests pick a nickname and an avatar. Signed-in players use their username and can pick a character or their profile photo.
- Hosts can hand over the room, start a rematch, or close the lobby.
- Copying the join code now works reliably across browsers.
Live rounds
- Everyone plays the same puzzle on a shared timer.
- While a round is running you only see other players' colour patterns. Full words are shared once players finish.
- Finished players can spectate the rest of the room.
- Results show a podium and full standings ranked by time, with guesses as the tie-breaker.
Safety
- Stronger moderation for chat messages and player names.
- The same checks now apply to usernames at sign-up.
Also in this release
- Profiles gained an Achievements tab, including eight Party achievements.
- Infinite mode is now limited to 128 boards or fewer.
- Tightened the homepage hero and hid friends and settings from the topbar when signed out.
